How much motor oil is PCV system (check vlv side) supposed to let by

I just put an oil trap on the Intake manifold side (not intake catch side) right after the check valve (that stops boost from going in the rocker cover) and the damd thing catches 1 - 2cc/day. Seems a large amt of oil to me for venting back into the system.

Is this normal? Is that oil supossed to cycle into the intake valves? I removed the trap but I did keep the oil catch on the other side because I know for sure thats OK to do on there. Is there something wrong with a seal on the rocker cover to let that much oil into the system.

Also, my car goes through 1qt/ 4000mi since day one -just in case

Thanks

The amount should be minimal. I have had my catch can in my car for a couple of years and i have only had about 1/8 in or so of oil in it.

I'm not talking about that side of the cranckcase vent system, I put a catch also on the other end on the other side of the valve cover (rt aft side) where a vacume source is applied to the valve cover with check valve inline. Your talking (I think) about the intake pipe to left frt vlv cover connection where I get minimal amt of oil collection too

I'm just wonder if for that area if its a norm amt or if that oil is supposed to cycle back in

In the picture I just drew below, I'm talking about top left

Thanks

BUMP,

Anybody know if it's safe to trap the oil of the PCV on the plenum side?

I put a trap there and as seen in the image is collecting 1-2mL/day - seems to be a lot to be nonessential.

Presently remove for that reason - all I can think is it may provide a rinsing action for EGR vapors
