oil cooler setups

compiling oil cooler setups thread, yes lots of this is taken from recently posted oil cooler question thread

One of the members used a MOCAL oil cooler... this is what he had to say..

I've never had an issue water temperatures, its the oil temperatures that have been very high during track days for me, hence the larger oil cooler. Unfortunately i havent done a trackday since having the larger oil cooler fitted, so i cannot comment on how muchit has lowered temperatures, though as i say, temperatures on the road are now too low!

If i was using the car during winter then i would have experimented and have blanked off part of the oil cooler, and on the off chance i take the car out before spring, then i will blank off BOTH sides of the cooler with tape. (in effect this would mean no oil cooling and i would expect to see temperatures of around 80 dregrees cruising on the motorway).

Its all abit awkward because i was forced to make alot of changes at the same time, not only did i fit the bigger oil cooler, but i also had to move the position of the oil temperature sensor too, so i can no longer compare the new temperature figures to my old ones. I have heard though that a larger capacity radiator would reduce oil temperatures - as well as water temperatures.

I think he has an Evo 6 or 7

At the end of this thread I believe that you also needed a fitting adapter for the engine side -- m18x1.5

Nice assembly of threads/pix

Yes, we do, but some people are exceeding the stock oil coolers capability on the track. Especially in warmer climates.

.... thats nice

Back on topic -- I think there is a market for a good kit with the proven correct fittings and lines. Any vendors want to step up and do one? I would buy it
