How to turn up boost on stock turbo?
This is my first Turbo car (Lancer Evo 8) and I am wondering how you turn up the boost on the stock Turbo? I am assuming you need a Boost Controller right? Just wondering for future refference. Also how much psi is it safe to turn the stock turbo up to without ruining things?

Boost controller is the easiest to lock in boost. the stock boost I believe is 19.6 PSI which is good. The problem is as RPM increase the boost falls due to the ECU. With the boost controller you can make your boost "locked" at 19 PSI until redline.
As for what boost to run, most people will tell you not over 20 PSI on pump gas (91-94 octane).

So I assume the factory ECU is what is limiting the boost on these cars right? I assume by getting a boost controller it overrides the factory 19.6 psi setting that the ECU has stored in it? Is this bad for the ECU to override it?
