stock spark plugs or 1 step colder

I have a 2.3 stroker w/ GT35R. I am using stock plugs but should I go 1 step colder? Some people say the weather effects the plugs - 1 step colder in summer, stock in winter. Does this matter?

if I should be using 1 step colder, which kind? I heard a problem is the tip of the plug does not go in far enough into the motor.(my tip is fine - ha!)

thanks

You should go at least one step cooler on your plugs at your power levels. My suggestion, NGK Iridium IX BR8EIX. Search my name + spark plugs to read more. I have slung a ton of info on this subject in this forum.

lol.....ok...then prove it big shot? you need to do some serious research homie. you have no idea what you are talking about.

to the original poster......im a tuner with many years experience....trust me......take my advice on this. if you or any other person wants facts on why I say what I say......search my name on here and enjoy. if you're too lazy, that's fine....but don't spread misinformation.

also, there is a two year replacement warranty on those NGK iridium plugs.......lol. waste of money? more performance for less money being wasteful is new news to me. I guess im the dumbass huh?

br8eix are ok, however, i prefer the denso version iw-24? not 100% certain, but check www.sparkplugs.com

the denso's lasted longer for me (9k miles), they fire better during very cold mornings for me as well.

i run iw-27's = br9eix......i push the $hit out of 91 oct.

my car is a dd/take the kids to school-ride!

run the cheapo br?es if you like changing plugs all the time.

Ive ran BPR8ES's for a long time now everyday Daily Driven 500+whp car. See's 30psi all the time. U can get them from Advance, I order 20 at a time.

Costs me 35$ or so? No problems all year round. Even in the teen's in cold weather fired right up and drove good.

I say that the 7's made my car run hella better than stock.

One step colder and copper on a VIII and on a IX you could do iridium since they were the only ones available when I was running my setup. Even then you will need a extra set to keep in the car if you're going to be running high boost.

The BR8EIX are cheap for irridium, $20 for a set. Go 2 steps colder unless you live over 3000ft in elevation. I run 9s. Don't go crazy on the gap - thats rough on the coils

What he said. I ran my last set of bpr8es's for 15K miles and they still ran fine, just changed them before winter as they looked pretty black. Running 27-28psi with no problems.
