Will a 65mm throttle body help any?

I was thinking about getting a 65mm throttle body for my IX, but I'm unsure as to wether it will be worthwhile. Also if I do get the throttle body should I also get my intake manifold ported or would it be O.K. to leave the intake stock. My car is down for a clutch & Iv've been doing mods while it's down. Now is the time to do it if I'm gonna do it since I'll be getting the car dyno tuned after it's back on the road. I may do meth in the future, but I want to tune it on 93 first & see how I like it first. Not sure I want meth yet. Here is the list of mods installed or going on the car. Any opinions or other ideas apreciated.

Yes, it will help.. but you need the Ported Intake mani in order to fit a 65mm TB

It is only beneficial and works with the ported intake manifold. I don't think any gains were made just throwing on the TB. Think about it, the intake manifold is still bottle-necked after the TB with an un-ported manifold.

Cheers-

I guess I'll go for it. I wasn't looking forward to pulling the intake, but its now or never.

Yeah check out MIL.SPEC for the throttle body. I've seen the TB's in person and they look awsome. Don't forget about their exh mani as well. Forget about that Muse crap.

We have every confidence that our 65mm throttle body can help, but you need to get the intake manifold ported to match. I have the MIL.SPEC 65mm TB on my personal vehicle and so does Aby.

Last time I checked, we had the only dyno chart out there proving the TB's gains. That chart should be up tomorrow.

Doesn't Works include a 65mm TB in their TR-303 and TR-340 packages without any mention of the intake manifold?

Not sure about WORKS set-up, but we don't suggest installing a 65mm TB without porting the intake manifold too.

True you can install it, but w/out port matching it to the IM its just a bigger TB on the same small opening and a waste of money.

^^^ I agree. I'm just curious to why Works, which is a bunch of engineers, would include the TB in their signature power packages without mentioning needing an intake manifold with a 65mm opening. Maybe Jamie or somebody can chime in...

I would highly recommend not going with the WORK 65mm TB. Mostly because it ISN'T a true 65mm TB. I generally will never not recommend a vendor, but advertising something that it isn't is not cool.

The works 65mm throttle body is only 61.97mm in diameter. I could not find where works got their measurement of 65mm.
