High Octane fuel guys! How often do you change your O2 Sensor?Mine gave up aftr 15gal
My O2 sensor gave up on me today
I've only put 15 gallons total so far with Sunoco 116 octane.
Anybody have the same issue?
I know they go bad fast when using leaded fuel.
This is my 2nd O2 sensor. The 1st one I didn't count the gallons used.
How often do you change your O2 Sensor?(gallons?) Is there any sensor that will last longer than the Bosch?

mines going out the door as well, but my comp clears the code on its own with around town driving. it might just be my tune.
I haven't seen/heard of an o2 sensor (wideband or not) that has been tried and tested to have superior longevity over any particular brand. we just have to keep buying it.

It works. Any fuel with tertiary ethyl lead (TEL) or Mn compunds (orange stuff) will deposit on any sensor and shorten it's life by like a 5 fold. The lead coats chamber surfaces which is the main mechanism of raising detonation limit. Even after the fuel is used up the coating stays there for awhile and remains active until it's burned off. The sensor doesnt get hot enough to self clean and will continue to collect the vaprized stuff that was in the chamber. The sensor will gradually die with leaner (I think) readings.
FYI, reports have shown abnormally lower detonation resistance than typical with using alcohol following leaded fuel

I went through my AEM sensor pretty quickly to when I introduced race fuel.
Someone told me that FJO recommends the NTK sensor for race fuel.
