you have to remove excess oil from the foam before installation. they are packaged with a bit of extra to prevent drying out.

Went through half this thread. Nothing on the intake I current have. Got a s.a.r.d. intake and adapter. Not much on google about it either.

Australian Air Filters?

Bringing an old thread back...

Quite new to the forums, I've been reading a ton and love this air filter test.

However, I am in Australia, and trying to get my hands on most of the air filters (specifically AMSOIL & Green Filter USA POD filters) are hard without having to pay more for the shipping than the actual air filter itself.

SO my question is, does anyone have any other air filter brands which they know are great?

Air Filter brands that I know of in Australia include:
- BMC (Used by racing teams),
- Simota,
- 3A Racing (Apparently really good),
- Apexi,
- Blitz, and
- K&N.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

I have no idea how I missed this back when I was trying to find out if the Perrin Intake would fit with the Amsoil Air Filter (EAAU4560) on my Evo IX.

I thought I was breaking ground documenting that it fits, I had to bend the ACD reservoir out of the way just a little bit, hardly enough to notice. Meanwhile Kracka has moved on to other things.

Bringing bac to life this thread.....

I use Perrin air filter since I read this threar some years ago. Now, my filter is dead and they (perrin) no longer do this filter anymore (4.5" inlet).

My question is, what can we do? I dont know if buschur sale only the air filter in 4.5" size and there will be a change in my tune? Any suggestions?

Most air filters are pretty much the same. If you are moving from one open filter to another, your tune will be fine.

This same exact thing happened to me. You can use the STM universal 4.5 inch filter and it will be a direct bolt on to the Perrin kit you already have. I've tested it to 37 psi without issue. The best part is you don't have to bend anything out of the way, it just works. You will need a retune to access the full gains (or loss) from it, but it's safe and reliable to use as a replacement. Here it is on my car.

I like it. It's a lot shorter than my BR filter.

Box better if smooth out rest of it's airflow

use new style box blower\electric ram some will give 3psi buddy at will drawing 2.2 amps to just over just bout what your starter pulls.imo would be better to run short ram like old cowl induction reverse to negative air pocket right at base of windshield for best clean pull of air. Or if all MFG plastic guides and plates are still there sealed properly and not choked by their inline choke will pull cold air just fine. 89rs Camaro with box and cone inside the outlet of box and smoother pieces at the two worked fine did not ever effect mixture settings as long as pipe at maf nvr chgs it's fine. If do then just do math figure out how large you need for proper size maf and can still use MFG settings no change. I did it 5.0 thick walled RS 89 h.o. Camaro. Cone worked if I rammed it.
