Right rebuild kit for the TD05HR?
I can't seem to get a straight answer from turbo parts kit companies about whether the 16G rebuild kits you can buy (intended for non "R" reverse spin turbos like on the evo) will work on the "R"s. Some of the guys say that their 16G kits will work for any 16G evo included... some explicitly say not for the "R" evo turbos. Can anybody shed some light on this? Hoping to not buy the wrong parts kit to rebuild my turbo.

To answer your question, no, standard rotation rebuild kits will NOT be the right kit for any reverse rotation turbo. Although the only 'real' difference is the thrust bearing is drilled differently, everything else is the same.
Hope that helps.
