ac problems!

I pulled the engine from my car and had to break open the ac, so I recently had it recharged and it was working great until after got the car tuned. When I first turn the ac on, it will blow cold for less than a minute then start to blow warm air.... at idle it seems to work fine but it does not work at all on the highway. the compressor seems to be activating because it idles like crap with the ac on and at times afr goes way lean to about 17 then id idles back up. today i took it to the shop and they put the ac gauges on it and the high side would shoot way up to 450+ when the car would bog down from crappy idle but when it idles smooth, it would be around 250psi... any ideas what could be causing this?

sounds like you have mosture in the system. itll freeze and cause the high pressures. you should replace the can looking thing by the condensor in the front of the car. its called a reciever dryer.

well the dryer is full of desiccant so if the lines are open than itll just obsorb and hold. so that would be where the mosture is coming from. and the mosture will freeze causing clog and a high pressure. also causing the ac to not work correctly.
