UR 3" High Flow Cat & UR 3" Test Pipe

I am still kind of deciding which one to get. I know a test pipe gives me more hp than a 3" high flow cat but how much more? I dont want it crazy loud so a high flow cat is perfect and since I want a lil more hp, the test pipe a good. Please voice your opinions. The test pipe is only $75 INCLUDING NO CEL and the 3" high flow cat is $150. Which one???

I had the UR cat back initially. Last week I added the test pipe and DP. There isn't much difference in sound until about 4-5000 rpm. The car sounds awesome. It does not drone at highway speeds. It is not my daily driver though, so I think it is great. No idea what the sound or HP diff with the cat on would be.

I want the high flow cat. Can you please provide me with a link to the site where I can order it from? BTW I would go with the CAT because I have emissions in my state and I don't feel like taking the cat on and off everytime I go to inspection plus I like nature.

dude, i dont know how well this works, but ultimate racing has got this 2 way exhuast system, with a valve in the downpipe that you can open up to have a straight pipe, check it out.

You have to get to it from the main page, not the EVO part...but they have an application for the evo

What does it sound like after 4-5k rpm? Much louder, sets off alarms? Raspy, or deep drone?

UR doesn't make that 2 way downpipe anymore due to sealing issues.

I have, and would recommend the UR 3" test pipe. Unless you're some environmentalist or something, I'd get the test pipe over the cat. Reason being that a hollow pipe will always flow better than something with screens in the way. The UR 3" test pipe has the thing to make your ECU not trip the CEL. I've never run the UR 3" cat in my car, so I can't tell U the HP difference, but I am sure it's several HP throughout the powerband, and make more upstairs.

Hey Hooptie157, are you getting the flash on November 1st? If you are, I think we're gonna be around the same setup since I plan to buy a 3" high flow cat instead. I dont want that much noise and i dont really care about the environment anyway but the test pipe might be headache.

i've got the UR turbo-back too

never tried the high-flow cat...but i imagine it doesn't produce as much power as the test-pipe. nothing beats a straight through design. but if you're concerned about the legal side, go with the high-flow cat
