I have quite a few bottles of this stuff leftover from when I had my C5 (I used it in my DTE built rear end), and I was wondering if I could use this in my transfer case? I know that Mistubishi uses Diaqueen & the manual says API GL5 SAE 90 & this would be a bit thicker (I'm thinking a little better protection?). Thanks!!

Use what Mitsu designed the transfer case around. Thicker doesn't always mean better protection, especially if its too thick to flow in the tiny oiling passages there were designed to flow thinner oil. The 90W DiaQueen is going to be your best bet, but you can also use Redline or Mobil 1 75W-90 GL-5.

s2 I was at a local speed shop buying meth and saw they were an ams oil dealer. I needed to change my drivetrain fluids so I had him look it up for my car. I ended up buying the synthetic 75w-90. Its both gl4 and 5. I thought that the tranny needed gl-4 specifically ?
I think right now though there is like oem toyota fluids. lol. My friends dad did it and said it would be fine and it has. Im not to keen on that the need overly specific fluid just quality 75w-90.

As far as that specific viscosity range is concerned, I have been using Motul Competition ff, 75W-140 Gear Oil(0% shear) for about 60,000 miles of mountain driving in my JDM RS's transfer case and rear differential. I haven't experienced any problems yet. However, at $28.00 per liter it is relatively expensive. But to answer your question....if you already have the Redline stuff sitting on your garage shelf, then personally, I'd run it.
