Lifter tick only when warm??

problem fixed. Had a bad cam, swapped out with different set of cams and ticking/tapping went away

so heres the story. I replaced my cams on my evo 8 with hks 272 and didnt bleed the lifters. Alot of good shops around been telling my bleeding lifters was an old saying and dont need to do it unless you have the lifters sitting around overnight while putting cams or ect.

the noise got quieter, i also did a fresh oil change. Now what happens is when i start it up on cold start its normal but after the motor gets to operating temp. it starts to tick???

Any help

I didnt bleed mine but mine is the opposite. Mine ticks when cold then goes away after a couple of min. Are you sure its not an exhaust leak?

With my Hks cams they ticked just a lil at all times after install. It slowly went away after 5 thousand miles or so

Bleed your lifters. I don't see why anyone would skip this step, it seriously only takes an extra 5 minutes to do all 16.

could it be too late to bleed them now?

I dont undetstand if their hydrolic lifters why should you have to bleed them when they pump in/out oil when needed

My lifters tick when the car warms up. Hopefully it will go away in the future.

I bled my lifters during my second cam install and there was no lifter tick. Could you be mistaking the injectors clicking for lifter tick?

Try the in car bleeding procedure they document in the FSM. Worked for me once years back.

The manuals procedure states to slowly ramp the throttle to 3k rpm, hold for 10 sec, lift throttle, then repeat.
