Spiking?

So finally after putting my tbe exhaust and perrin intake on my 06 mr i got to drive it. it was a cold night and when i got on it as soon as i got close to redline the boost spiked to 24psi and i got fuel cut. what will fix this? i have a fuel pump and manual boost controller that i didnt put on. i heard that the mbc will fix the problem but what do you guys think? i am getting tuned soon so i dont really wanna hear that.

Honestly, ditch the MBC and go with a GM 3 port. It'll hold boost up top better =)

Normal to spike when putting a TBE on I know you dont want to HEAR it but tune the car man or you can put the MBC on and turn it all the way down, then gradually up till you get back to 20 psi.

You need a tune and a permanent solution.

^ +1 Tune the car and get an ebc or 3port. You also have to remember that a MBC will boost higher on colder nights than warmer days. Good luck

If your boost "spiked" to 24 psi and redline then that is not boost spike. It is called boost creep. That is pretty normal after doing a TBE and keeping the stock o2 housing, in cold weather conditions.

You cannot really "tune" out boost creep but you can get the fuel cut limiter raised a bit or you can go with a new o2 housing.
