a good way to summarize this turbo up is it will allow 50whp over a evo 9 with no loss in spool and more durable since its ball bearing. with that said i would never put it on a 2.3L. I can spool my black FULL by 3800rpm, it would be stupid to put this thing on a 2.3.. waste of motor........ unless you're looking for n/a feeling with a turbo.

Well for the non draggies out there I'd like to see some power and torque comparisons of these turbos on an engine with a hard rev limit of 5800 .
The restricted rally engines in the Evo 6 era were generating 650 Nm of torque and from memory works drivers were changing up at about 52-5300 revs .
I can't imagine how narrow/peaky some of these coloured turbos would feel to drive if not revved to the moon .
One thing air restrictors did do was to force the engineers to find ways of making killer torque in a rev limited engine .
Obviously this had to start at the manufacturers level in order to be able to homologate at least the Group A cars for international rallying .
I think the reason why Evos became so popular as street cars is because they make good torque and are not what I call laggy/peaky in OE form for their power output . Rally engines make good torque and fail dismally if they don't . Tarmac race engines are different - higher state of tune . Generally the homologated road going versions are laggy pigs that don't want to know about coming alive much under 4000 revs . Hopeless useless failures in my book - for a road car that is .
Anyway I'd really like to see what can be done with turbos designed to support a LOT of torque without a lot of revs . Maybe things like the 9RS turbo vs White HTA vs 7460R vs BBK lite .
I wonder how a HTA White with the spiffy comp housing/titanium turbine/ball bearings/10.8 cm T housing would go ...

the torque comes on much faster with this turbo...look at the charts you will see why it hits so hard quickly...it speaks volumes for us road course junkies...incredible on street dd as well

a normal bolt on evo8(intake/TBE/Fuelpump/MBC) around 290-310
evo9 around 315-330
obviously it depends on alot of things besides just mods but a bone stock 03 evo i think puts down around 210-220whp on ours
this turbo is a awesome lil turbo. Not a "replacement" for any of the other turbos but def a good addition to them
