Some current oil analysis info, ongoing testing.

**** Update on page 19. I am posting oil pressure related data to some of these oils.

Having tried many different oils on both street and track on both the current evo and my last project car I had (mr2 turbo) I have decided to get data on the oils I have been using. My goal with this is to see what my oils are doing, which meets my criteria based on the data I recieve, and also will be posting uoa and voas from various other members with their setups. Hopefully we can have some good info on here that is EVO specific and what we are seeing with the various oils evo members are running.

First oil I received back from Blackstone was amsoil 5w30asl. It was ran for 3000 miles, dd going from home to work (~19 miles each way). The evo was driven consevatively with not alot of heavy wot boosting, using a napa gold/wix filter. here is the info:

here's what mine looks like after 6,000 miles which included a track day, sitting for 3 months, and lots and lots of other abuse. only reason i ran it so long is because i didn't have time to change it earlier + being a little on the lazy side :P

Just as a suggestion, after you get the pic to the size you want on your own computer, upload it to imageshack. Use sizing option "do not resize". Copy the address called "forum code" (I think), to paste into the insert image thing here. It will come back out of imageshack looking just like when you put it in. Don't need to register. You can give it a png, jpg, whatever you want. png's for some reason work really well for documents and other things that have a lot of white area. Delete the header code out of the insert image blank before you paste in the forum code.

Nop not the same, ASL is a much more robust oil it holds up to more abuse than XL but much more important it will do it for alonger period of time , more detergents are found in the ASL,,,, i wont take cerit from XL as it has been redesigned to go for longer times between drain.
Although XL is a great budget oil to be used on evos at around 5.85 a quart, but still a group 4 premium oil.

Jeff no need to double check that.

AMSOIL does not use para synthetics, they are all premium synthetics AKA "chemically synthesized materials"
