Evo 9 Piston Ring Orientation
Wandering if anybody could help me out. Iv searched but haven't had any luck. Iv got this Eclipse 4g63 motor that I'm building for a friend and I'm install Evo 9 pistons. He got the pistons without rings so I ordered a new set. My question is which orientation do I install the end gap on the oil control ring?
I realize these pistons have a 2 piece oil control ring and Im no stranger to the Eclipse 4g63 motor but this is the first time Iv installed Evo 9 pistons. I have a service manual for the Evo 9 but it doesn't show how to install the rings or their orientation. I would greatly appreciate it if some one could point me in the direction of a manual that has this information or could shed some light on which way the piston ring end gaps are clocked in the Evo 9 motor. I need to finish this motor by this weekend so I kind of need this info asap. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks but that's for pistons that use standard type 3 piece oil control rings. I'm working with the stock Evo 9 pistons.
I just found what I was looking for. Guess I just had to word it properly.. If anybody is curious here is the link to the factory engine overhaul manual I was looking for... http://www.evoscan.com/manuals/Evo9/GR00002300-11B.pdf
