Any updates with these plugs. I like ngk plugs, but for one step colder and all but $200.00, are the denso's of same quality? I am at 701 on buschurs dyno, on e85

Im now looking into these NGK r7437-8 or some OEM ones.

My question is, do you have to specify a specific gap with either of these?
YUP! The gap is usually going to be dictated by how much boost you're running and your particular turbo set up. On stock Evo's running somwhere between 17-20 PSI I believe the gap is .028-.031; 20-25 PSI = .025-.028; 25-30 PSI = .022-.025; 30+ PSI =.018-.022.
(Disclamer)
Now getting away from the what works on the VIII vs. IX argument, these are just plug gap settings that I have seen numerous Evo owners use on their cars by virtue of the boost levels they were running and by no means am I attempting to tell you this is what will 4 sure work on your set up. This is just my .02

so far theyve put up with 31psi on a stock ix turbo, and 28 psi on a green... methanol... 110octane... and heavily enriched 91 with 2 large cans of 108turbo octane booster. which btw is the only booster i've found to actually effect knock just fyi
