Stock Spool Feel, Decent Power.. Questions

Hello, I am new to power mods on the EVO. I have an 05 EVO 8 and I autocross ocassionaly two or three times a year but my car is mainly a DD. I want some more power but still be competitive. I am in the market for a fast spooling turbo which can deliver like 300-400hp up top. I do know that the stock 8 turbo is the the weakest. The choices I am looking at is a

EVO 9 Turbo Ported and Coated by MAP
CBRD BBK LITE
CBRD BBK FULL

After going to cbrd website and trolling the forums I still don't completely know the difference between the BBKB BBK-Lite and BBK-Full can someone please explain further?

If I get a EVO 9 Ported and Coated will it still be able to be upgraded to a BBK in the future?

For a turbo that loses barely none to any stock fast spool feel which turbo set up should I be looking into the most? I do not are about top end numbers as much as I do a solid fast spool up..

Thank You

BBK-Full /endthread

BBK-Lite is a smaller step up from the stock IX turbo, it flows slightly less than the BBK-Full. I personally don't see the point as I experience near identical spool to stock with the ported BBK-Full.

How about the HKS GTII 7460R Turbo, from the reviews on here, it seems to be a very fast spooling turbo (better spool than the HTA green) and capable of 400-450 HP.
there are plenty of reviews here on this site, search for them.

You will not hit 450 whp with an HKS GTII on pump gas. It also costs $1000 more than a BBK-Full and the early release had major surging problems. I've heard other people that have been very pleased with it since then, so its certainly an option, as a ball bearing turbo will last longer and generally spool faster than a journal bearing turbo.

Hmmm. Maybe the HTA Green with a 9.8 housing would do it for AX.

Also a badass turbo... my other choice if I were not using a BBK. Doesn't it have a slightly higher flow rate than the BBK-Full?

Same power output..... BBK more reliable and cheaper and no special oils needed.

BBK>FP

I thought that the FP Black, and the FP Red were the only two turbos for which Forced Performance requires the buyer to use specific oils. The HTA Green is not included is it? Maybe I am mixed up.

I always thought that both FP and CBRD produce excellent turbos.

"If you are running an FP GREEN™ for the Mitsubishi Evolution, you will need to run the longer oil supply line that feeds from the oil filter housing. For purchase of the Evo 8 Install kit with the longer oil supply line, please see this product page:

FP Evo 8 Install Kit Generation 2"
