Evo 4g64 oil pump help

Evo 4g64 oil pump help

Hey guys I was in the process of puting my 2.4 motor together I currently brought brand new 4g63 oil pump as I put it on the block I noticed where the alternator goes the oil pump don't line up with the block any help do I need to buy a 4g64 oil pump thanks guys

That block won't fit an evo...there are a few diff 4g64 blocks. You need the one that has the dip in on the oil pan surface for the xfer case. Most of the accessory brackets won't fit that block either.....sorry.

You need 00-03 (some 04) Galant, Outlander, and Eclipse for the 4g64 engine. The one you have is the wrong one. The trans has to be on the drivers side.

So this block is for a dsm correct?

Looks like it is, previous generations 4G64 were positioned on the left (driver) side of the car, the newer generations were on the right side which means the block is almost the same but all the accessories are in the wrong place, the block you need would have to come from a Galant 99-03, Eclipse 00-04, good thing is you can find them pretty cheap, i bought a whole engine for $350.00 for my build.

DSM block. Block stamp is not next to the dipstick on an "evo style" block. Stamp is on the front and the dipstick is on the back.
