spark plug gap

spark plug gap

so im changing my for the first time right now and ive read that everyone has their plugs gapped to like .025. i gapped the ones i took out and they are at .037.
should i run mine to the same or make them tighter?

i have the NGK BPR7ES

If you have a c.o.p you can run them wider but if not try the same gap, or gap them to .025 and give it a run.

I Have the same plug gapped to .25 and runs perfect!

0.020" and do not deviate. COP/Stock coils/Custom dont really matter and the car wont make more power or get better mileage with a larger gap.

For reference-

Stock ILFR7H in my Evo IX, 40psi, 800whp+, stock coils, 0.019" gap, absolutely no misfires.

thanks for all the input guys, i gapped it to i think about .026 or .027 around there
and it runs good!

Aaron just said .020" and you decided against his advice Jk.

Give it a shot. What kind of boost are you running?

I can't get away with anything bigger than .020" on E85 at 27+psi. I'm on 91 oct now at 25psi and I'm sure I can get away with .022" to .024". I don't feel like regapping everytime I switch fuel.
