Hey guys. So I'm in the process of overhauling my '04 Evo 8 RS transmission. I had some noise coming from the drivetrain during deceleration/coasting in the 5th and 4th gear, so I suspected it was my tranny. I removed the transmission and opened it up, however the bearings on both of the shafts seem to be flawless. In fact everything in the tranny looked great. There is one problem(I believe).

My question; Are the Outer Races that sit In the Transmission Housing suppose to Spin Freely?? My thought is that the Races are suppose to sit firmly in place while the Input/Output Shaft Bearings spin on on the Races themselves??
