engine life

so just curious as to how many people are still out there rocking the stock block. Im currently at 127k miles on stock block and im kinda curious as to how long i can expect to keep it going.

137xxx, and counting i drive on average 100 a day if not more.

All depends on how you treat your car. Theres a member on here who is almost at 400k and most likely never steps on it. Routine maintenance is always the key

just as an extra precaution im buying a spare block, eagle rods, pistons, and a head. gonna have it all assembled, and when the stock one bites the dust ill just swap them out.

As I recall, the guy with the big miles dropped a valve or something along the way and is driving a build.

Ran mine to 147k before I spund the bearings. Mine broke on track. Probably would be fine if I didn't tracked it so much...haha

haha i hear ya! ive only made 2 passes in mine. I have no clue about the previous owners tho. it just had intake and exhaust when i bought it, so i dont think it saw much track time before me.

A customer of mine has an evo 4 with 247000 kilometres still on original eng , unopened .

I just bought a wrecked 03 with 104k miles. The trans and tcase are messed up but engine still runs fine. I did a leakdown test and all looked fine except cylinder 3, which was at 20% leakdown. Its obvious the previous owner did not take good care of the care and abused it but engine still started up and ran fine.
