winterizing question

For all you guys in colder climates with evo's I was wondering what heaters you install. I'm up and Alaska and winter is coming quick and usually with cars I give the whole 9 yards (winter coolant, thin oil, oil pan heater and block heater), but from the few threads I could find on the block heaters our car had a tendency to spit um out due to pressure. I was wondering if that was an isolated problem or if that's just what the car does so I should refrain from using a block heater. Input is appreciated.

had the evo in colorado during the blizzards and all that for years. didnt winterize it at all...
just started right up, wipe all the snow off and go. 5w30 oil, more antifreeze % over water.

Anybody else? Gets down to about -40f up here or colder n so If there isn't any problems with leaks or anything I would like to have a block heater as protection.
