Evo 8 IM work on Evo V-VI motor?

Hi, So Im thinking about putting a Evo 5-6 motor into a mirage. they are much cheaper than VIII motor and i am going to use a 5-6 harness. will the 5-6 harness support the VIII manifold and sensors? also, does it have the sensor plugs for EGR and Evap system? If not, has anyone ever installed Emissions stuff on a 5-6? Thanks.

I don't know about the 5 and 6, but the 4 doesn't have a MAP sensor or a spot in the casting for it, and also does not have an EGR runner (but the head does). However, I have no verification as to whether or not there is a different manifold used on the anti-lag motors, as the one that I have did have that system installed.

Also, sorry about not getting the numbers off my block for you, I walk past the thing a minimum of twice daily and really have no valid excuse, haha. I'll try to remember to PM you tonight if you still want me to.

no egr or evap wiring on 5/6 , evap has just a charcoal canister mounted on strut tower and pipe to throttle body . what test do they do for emissions ??? readiness or tailpipe test. If you use the 8 inlet manifold and 8 ecu you could wire in the egr solenoid

I'm trying to pass the VI motor off as a VIII so Id need a egr, eval system and all the rest of the emissions equipment. I guess they don't have to work but as long as it looks hooked up correctly. they do visual and tail pipe here so ill have to shut the CEL on the edu. is there a way to connect a OEM Map sensor to the harness? or just hook it up and tape the wires off to look like it?

basically the engines are the same so use all the 8 emissions stuff it will all bolt on , then if you want you could wire them back to the ecu or as mentioned above tape them off

sounds good to me, Thank you!. do you know if there is a secondary O2 on the V/VI? I since it'd be OBDII here, I would need there to be a Secondary O2, unless theres a way to disable it and still pass smog?
