Evo vibrating and shaking
Good day everyone,
I recently purchased a 2006 evo ix with stock engine and turbo. It does have many extra parts however.
It seems the engine has recently started vibrating causing the steering wheel and seats to shake. To make it worse, when releasing the clutch to take off, it causes the entire car to shake a lot more. It does not sound normal.
I'm thinking it might be the timing belt. Any ideas?
Car has 80,000 miles
Thank you for your time

EDIT: Just saw your other post where the vibration goes away....not sure then if it is the timing but you should definitely do it if it has not been done and you have 80K on the odometer.
I would remove the upper timing cover and rotate the engine until it is at TDC and check your timing on the cam gears. Check the condition of the belt and any visible teeth on the belt.
I would go ahead and order your parts to do the timing belt job. I also would NOT drive it seeing how it could very well be out of time and you could be on the verge of bending some valves.
Let us know what it turns out to be.

Yes engine seems to be running just fine at correct rpm and no miss. Sometimes it doesn't even vibrate on idle
