Any idea if or when a 6speed kit might be coming out?

So have any of the big Evo trans builders like TRE, Shep or Jacks had any testing on these or any word/guidance on these yet? I assume your prototypes are just one set for you guys to test out then start production, but I hope it's you guys sending out many sets to the trans builders and guys on the waiting list to test out. I may have missed something in the thread but thanks in advance for your reply.

We will have the first 25 test sets done in a couple weeks and we will be sending a set to Jacks, TRE, Shep and English racing. We will also be test fitting them in house. The next 200 sets will be ready 3-4 weeks after that. As soon as the fitment is confirmed to be correct we will start filling orders on the waiting list.

You may not realise this but there are more 6speeds out there than 5speeds.
Also with the weaker 6 speeds, the 6speeds need this more than the 5speeds!

Hopefully u can see the commerciality of the 6 speed and start production.

This won't help the strength of the 6-speed. These are synchro's, not gears. The gears themselves are the weak part of the 6-speed

someone should get on the phone with jon@tre and check. i know it's the gears that are weak, but there's some issue with the synchros as well. don't quote me on this, but i think he indicated something along the lines of when the synchros on the 6speed wear out, the keys just fall out or something like that

Outside North America in most markets the GSR came standard with a 6 speed and had an optional 5 speed in some markets. The RS had similar options even though I don't remember which one was standard and which one was optional. Regardless, that was the first shock I had when I first sat inside my USDM car to see it with "only" 5 gears standard while the ones at home had 6.

Given that the GSR traditionally was produced with higher numbers than the RS, MR or other special models its not unreasonable to think that it could be true. limbi is outside NA so his local experience with the cars is most likely simliar to how mine was and thus his statement.
