Turbo Lag
I searched throughout this forum and did not find anything to help me. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this but I am having severe turbo lag. This occurred after I installed a manual boost controller.
I followed many tutorials on how to install my MBC (Manuel Boost Controller) and I feel pretty comfortable on how it is installed. Here is how I installed it;
Wastegate->T-Split ->MBC
->Emissions Solenoid (bottom vacuum inlet, left top one open)
MBC->Turbo
Note*= Pill restrictor from turbo was removed
I adjusted my PSI to 24. (Tried as low as 13 and as high as 30)
Total vacuum lines length from Wastegate/Turbo -> MBC is about 1.5' or 18".
When it was all factory I remember hearing my turbo spool around 2800rpms and receiving power to the wheels at just around 3000rpms. It was very consistent and smooth.
Now what I get is turbo spooling at the same range of around 2800rpms but I do not receive power to the wheels up until 4000rpms! This is a major difference.
Things I have fixed so far; Any possible leaks around the airbox, plugged the nipple on the big hose that connects the turbo to the airbox, Replaced vacuum lines, replaced emissions solenoid.
What I have at my disposal; EvoScan/EcuFlash, plenty of vacuum lines, boost gauge.
What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this and what could possible be causing this?

maybe take it to a evo tuner or get a tune from TSCOMP Tuned, maybe you need to add some fuel and add some timing to get that thing going, but if you aren't good at it then you should consult a professional. Also, post your mods so we can get an idea of what you're working with!

At what RPM does the power go to your wheels after the turbo spools at 2800 on your Evo?

My turbo hits full boost at 5000rpm cause it's not stock.
May be you could try and adjust the pre load on you wastegate arm.
But I think you need to play around with your mbc to figure out what it likes. What kind of mbc is it?

Who out there can tell me when their Evo factory turbo gives power to the wheels?

fyi you shouldn't be adjusting / increasing the boost without a proper tune. that is a good way to put a hole on your block. Actually, the way you describe the issue, sounds like your ecu is pulling timing cause of knock -> probably because of the increased boost without properly adjusting the tune and timing.
Also, if you want to check how you routed / installed your mbc there are a lot of how-to's on this site.
