Evo 8 Turbo to 20G 10.5 Completed w/pictures!
I'm putting a 20G wheel and cover from turbolab on the stock evo 8 CHRA with a 10.5 hotside, this combination should make a turbo that flows more than an evo 9 turbo. Its only about a 170$ upgrade + 10.5 housing.
Update: 1/5/2015
Got the wheel and hotside on last night, went perfect. It seems the car picked up some niceable power, the spool sound is also completely different and way more aggressive.
Megan o2, 10.5 hotside, 20G
Found that the wastegate flapper designs are different on 9.8 vs 10.5 (9.8right,10.5left)
All done!

I ended up buying a Billet 7 Blade 20G and Compressor cover to fit it from Turbolab, they also sold me a 10.5 Hotside, Car should definitely pick up noticeable power.

Fp red is dbb and has a much bigger turbine wheen, with much better efficiency characteristics than an oem evo 9 turbine wheel. If you need an fp red performance turbo, you also need to upgrade the turbine wheel, otherwise there is not a comparison between the two.
As a side note, Kinugawa offers quality items and they are a good company to deal with in all aspects.
