Completely lost.. New aeromotive FPR wont go above 20 psi!!

So i have a walbro 450 that i hardwired (didnt wire low voltage in) so the pump is just on high bolts even at idle. Anyways, with the stock FPR the car would not idle after the hardwire.. The fuel pressure was just overwhelming the stock fpr, found this out because we tried pinching the feed line almost shut and the car ran almost perfect. Anyways, with the new aeromotive fpr the car fired right up. Except when adjusting it no matter how far we tightened it, the fuel pressure would not go above 20 psi. It stayed right at 20. With that, you figure my AFR's would be really lean but they were actually way richer than normal while letting it idle for a few minutes (12.5-13.x)... Im completely lost, any ideas?

Bad gauge? Burst diaphragm in the regulator?

Thats an interesting read. Makes me want to take mine apart. Or exchange it for another brand.

Also, i pinched the return line shut to see if the fuel pressure would jump up and nothing...

I am so lost at this point.

If you pinch the return line and still don't get >20 psi, the FPR shouldn't be the problem. Actually, if you have a OE return line and aren't seeing more than 20psi with that pump hardwired, that points to something being goofy on the feed side. Check the feed side for restrictions and check the voltage at the pump.

Yeah i agree. Im convinced its the pump oring not seating right. I think all the pressure before and having to clamp the feed line to get the car home might have caused the pump to unseat from the housing possibly? Im gonna take the pump out tonight, try and see if maybe the oring isnt seating right and go from there.

Check the voltage at the pump with engine running.

Update: The car wasn't getting enough fuel pressure because the fuel pump o-ring was ripped... that has been my issue this whole time. now that i put a new fuel pump o-ring in there, the fuel pressure wont go below 55 psi. I even unscrewed the FPR all the way. So i guess now i have to drill out the siphon tube? anyone know what sized bit i should use. This whole project is getting way too over my head
