Evo 8 Won't Pass 10 PSI

Okay so I've bought this car stock about a month and a half ago with 94k miles, When I bought it, the car was at 10 psi, I've already installed Injen Intercooler pipes, Injen intake, Turbo XS BOV, 3" TBE with 4.5" Muffler, and Hallman MBC. I've turned up the boost controller and still nothing, won't go past 10 psi. Anyone know what could be the problem? I thought it could have been a boost leak, but I've installed all new intercooler pipes & checked the couplers.

It could be a number of things. Firstly check the mbc is hooked up properly, secondly make sure there aren't any boost leaks, thirdly preload the wastegate fully and see if the boost rises, if not chnage the wastegate to a brand new aftermarket one with a 1,2bar spring.

check 2 things,
1: Boost control solenoid lines (not mbc)
2: wastegate preload might even be your wastegate sticking partially open.

how does the car sounds? do you hear a loud pshhh sound when you're going wide open throttle? let us know

I highly recommend doing a boost leak test. Once you have determined you don't have any boost leaks I would look into the boost controller. You can always bypass the controller and hook a vacuum line directly to the wastegate to make sure you're reaching factory boost.

Thanks!

I removed the boost control solenoid when I installed the MBC, and yes I checked to see if I installed it correctly and i did. And I have the turbo XS RFL BOV so it's loud anyways. But like I said the car was fully stock when i got it. I did all the mods.

I would try plugging the wastegate port, so it can't open to regulate boost, and doing a quick pull to see if you can get over 10 psi. Just be careful. If you can't get over 10 psi then you know for sure your loosing pressure somewhere between turbo and intake manifold.

i had an issue with a low boost condition. i took it into the shop, they did a boost leak test, all was good. did a test drive and when driven in, the tuner thought the car was too quiet. turns out it was a bad catalytic converter that they discovered when the dropped the catalytic converter and took a peak inside. replaced and all back to normal.

Did you check everything you were told to check? Wastegate actuator, cat, exhaust leaks pre turbo (you wont always hear them, make sure all bolts and studs/nuts are properly tight). Did you do an actual boost leak test? Visually inspecting couplers doesn't count as a boost leak test.
