Manely 100mm Forged crank

Hey guys, Just ordered my internals for my 2.3 build. While I was going to go for the oem crank, I got carried away and ordered a forged manely, now I know some people say there is a power limit on these, my question is, for the people hat jave a forged manely, what kind of power levers have you safely ran with this crank?

My personal power goals will be around 550whp and about linear torque to that.

Also, for the clearances, what do you guys run, i ordered std sized bearings, but since all is new i dont think this would provide me with sufficient clearance to run some bp or other high viscocity oils.

Setup:
Wiesco 1400hd's 9:1
Manely i beams
Acl std bearing set
Manely forged crank.

I like the idea of having all new internals, but the extra grand for a billet unit is just too much right now. All opinions are welcome!

Dont use it!

I broke a Manley 100mm at 430whp in 9000 miles. Eagle is the way to go.

This just happened, and is common. English has quite a few broken Manleys. The 4g64 oem crank is stronger. Eagle cranks are like 600 bucks, do yourself a favor.

Yup. Stick to OEM or eagle. And get better rods too. Oliver or Carrillo. Lighter and better quality.

the oem 4g64 crank is no where near as strong as a 4g63 crank.
I think the oem 4g64 crank is good for about 450/450... that about it.

Nobody is arguing 4g63 crank versus 4g64. We are talking about 4g64 versus Manley 100mm. I was saying that a 4g64 is a better choice than a Manley.

And my buddy here in town makes 500/500 on a 4g64 crank and it's on year 4.

I think Aaron at ER had another at 700 that lasted a long time.

Man that sucks to here as Tom (tscomp) is building me a 2.3 with the Manley 100 mm billet crank. Tom uses Manley cranks with a lot of his builds , so I would think he has had good results with them.

What power levels would an Eagle forged be good for?

This wasn't a billet, but ER has used the Billet with similar results. I'm sure it's stronger, but don't know how much.

So i just called map today and upgraded my forged to a billet unit, its 33 lbs and its a freaking masterpiece, its not a winberg but its still a beautiful unit. Also got the king bearings with extra oil clearance since im planning on running bp or similar viscocity oils.

I have read alot of great thing about the tt's and honestly, i didn't even second guess myself when i ordered them, i think they will do great in what in tryna build (550-600) whp max.

I personally know that Tom (tscomp) made 750 wtq on a Manley billet crank in his own 2.4 without issues, not to mention has built over 50 engines to date with both forged and billet Manley cranks with no failures. I trust Tom and his choices on what to use as I have never heard of a bad response to his work or services.
