How do I get to 400whp?
I have a 2006 evo mr 100% stock and I'm looking for a somewhat budget way to get to 400whp. I plan on doing this with e85. Don't know if the stock block would have trouble with 400 or if I should get a different block? Any input is appritiated

Everybody's right.
With E85, it can be done with simply:
-Turbo Back Exhaust w/HFC
-800cc injectors (Although you should really just get the largest you plan to run for the future)
- Boost controller
- Intake
-Walbro 255
It can also be done on the stock downpipe and o2 housing depending on the tune.

Was just wondering if there was some light that could be shed, as I have a AEM intake and was going to back the stock intake setup.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was told that the stock intake in the evo systems are not restricting at all? Was also told due to the nature of drawing air using the intake scoop and it being sealed to be kept away from heat was better then a open cold air intake.

He's the one who layed out the recipe noted above which yielded 407whp / 405 tq (Dyno jet no.s)

Instead of fixating on dyno numbers, just get an intake, exhaust and a 71HTA chra. http://www.forcedperformance.net/PROD/FPEVO971CHRA.html
Should be able to get ~370 whp on a good 91oct street tune. Best bang for the buck by a mile.
