what should i do about my red paint?
I have been having paint issues with my rally red Evo. I like to always keep my cars shinny and neat! I have waxed the evo today and once again there was some red paint on the rag, not much but some. I always buff my cars and now its seems that i really cant do it to my car anymore bc paints comes off and im afraid im taking layers of paint off everytime i do this. I have no choice but to only wax it, and to keep the paint looking decent and with some shine. What can i do? Im affraid that if i keep my Evo for a long time the paint will start to fade just like red and black paint fades on other cars. Ive tried taking it to mitsu and they said its my fault bc im using a buffing compound. I have had many cars and this has never happened to any of them.

do you even know what paint is used on mitsu cars? can you give me the name of the paint & price? plz stop spreading false info and learn to take care of your paint
on topic: you can't do much about your paint...i believe red paint is the hardest to make & maintain, so fading and chipping paint is inevitable...you might want to consider a new paintjob in the future

rally red evos have a single stage paint on.
every time i have mine buffed or when i wax it... rags are always covered in red residue.
If you wont buff or wax it the red fades and turns to pink red.
I am planning on spraying a coat of clear coat on mine before winter time.

The best paint is from over in asia.. they bake the paint @ 300-350 degrees, so, yes, it may be thin, but in all reality, the most durable thin paint... you can take that any way you want.
Paint in the states can only be baked at a maximum of 150 something degrees by law (im not deffinite on the exact number)... So, there might be more layers of pain when you get a paint job done here..but in all reality, it is more soft.
Notice, whenever you get paint work done for touch-up from accidents or whatever..those areas will chip faster than the stock paint.
Hope this brings some insight

So far I've had no major fade issues with my two year old, 42k mile Rally Red. I live in Orlando as well. I have noticed, however, that my left and right rearview mirrors have lost some of their gloss. The car is parked in a garage 50% of the time.
As far as car care, I'll wax the car with Meguier's Gold Class every couple of months by hand.
I'm pleased with the paint considering the car's age.
