DSM Shootout Results

DSM Shootout results, please info and results here. How did everybody do? Any 9 second or 10 second passes? I've also posted this on the drag forum, but getting very few replies there. Does anybody know the details?

Passes were fairly limited amoungst everyone as there were multiple rain delays. I left at 3:00 during the second significant rain. I saw the AMS EVO make 1 pass where it went 144.xx with a bad launch. Other than that, Curt Brown made some low to mid 10 second passes early in the morning before running into some problems.

Dont forget Shep who went 8.50@173 mph, Damn that Dude is flyin with that awd, Daniel Buschur went 10's@ 139 goin sideways out the hole with their new black car, and David's white RS was movin nice too. AMS silver evo if would have stayed straight and clean would have hit the 9's I think today. Evodave was in the 11's again, nice. The weather sucked big time but hangin with Big Al who won his class, David, Daniel, Jarod, and evoDave was cool. Congrats to all who stuck it out, and to the Buschurs especially for not callin off a raindate.........

Second time this year, flatbed home from the shootout. Looks like a oil issue to the rod bearing, what was left of the big end of the Eagle rod was four shades of blue, I may have hurt it on Saturday with the 50psi boost mishap, car seemed to be loosing MPH on every pass then boom, new crank case breather hole! Still had a great time though, lots of beer and hell raising. On a side note my IC air temps have dropped over 50 degree's with AMS's new race FMIC, too bad I couldn't take advantage of the new power to be had. Best pass of Sunday was 10.409@138mph, not great but not embarrissing. Good job to Big Al for winning the Evo heads up class, also to Shep for the blazing 8.59@172.5!

I ran my first ever 11 second runs in my car. I had to leave at the second rain delay in order to be home before midnight Sunday Both of my 11's were 11.8 second runs, but I ran my second 11 second run agains Curt Brown, and my dumb @ss let off the gas when the win lights came on! Curt had blown past me at half track on his way to a 10.402 @ 136.11. If I hadn't let off that would have been at least an 11.7 Oh well. Running 11.849 @ 120.02 on one run and then on that pass where I let off running 11.808 @ 119.21 on 25 psi and 93 octane (alcohol injection rules!) is still pretty darn nice

Curt - sorry that we could not meet again at the final. It was a pleasure to converse with you at the hotels the night before the shoout out. People who are evo crazy like yourself are what make this experience such a wonderful hobby.

Better luck next time.
