Did Chrysler make the motor for the Evo?
This guy claims that all Mitsubishi motors, including ALL 4g63 motors, were made by Chrysler after 1990. Please tell me this isn't true?
I seriously doubt it does, but since a lot of you know a lot about 4g63 motors, please tell me.

Actually the answer is yes and no here is what I know on the subject.
The division between Chrysler and Mitsubishi isnt really drawn out too well.
In the 80's the NewYorker had the Mitsubishi Engine due to a hickup in the production the powerplant designed by chrysler, it was faulty and wouldnt pass inspection worth a damn. So to push out there new car they took the Mitsubishi Engine from there friends abroad and walla a car that looked good for the era and ran forever. So with rice under the hood Chrysler left the winning design for the 80's and said we will get back to it later.
In the 90's now here is the kicker Eagle division was killed to bring the Mitsubishi line to America for a new fresh look and a boost to the company. Notice that the Eagle Talon and the Mitsubishi Eclipse are the same car. Well almost the same, one with a european look and the other with a more North American look but still all in all the same cars. As for the Lancer the Mitsubishi division had a problem with improving the little 4 cylinder engine and pushed it as far as they could. To get ahead of the competition they asked big brother to help fix it so they could put that little bad boy in there rally cars. As for making the engine I would say it was a draw, Mitsubishi laid down the engine and Chrysler improved it, so basically it can go either way.
As for anyone that hates rice burners I would just tell them hey its all the big friggin 3 and always will be. Every Motor company well most cept DMC and a few umm others and I mean few are in the 3. There is no such thing as a rice burner, never will be, and is just a myth to make the big V8's cry.
Sorry that was a rant and abit more than you wanted to know. Hope this was helpful....
Oh yeah I cant wait to get my Dodge umm I mean Mitsubishi Evo

hey these are all japanese, if you look at the window sticker it says 99 or 100 percent japan if it is one percent its because the dealer installs the little thing under the front lip for air distribution, if chrysler makes it, youll see the window sticker say something like 33 percent japan, 66 percent u.s., so this is all japanese, nothing to do with their american business when it comes to the construction of this vehicle, just little inspirations like more head room for us and wider seats and what night because we are per capita a bigger people. id just like to say thank you to my friends at mcdonalds and jack in the box, keep the fake food flowing...

Currently all mitsubishi engine and trany are made in japan the only chrysler made engine trany combo was the 420a setups in the 95-99 eclipse. Some earlier tranys were also made by chrylser.
