im having a boost/vacuum leak problem
i can hear the sound but can't really find it exactly where
the sound is coming behind the throttle body
i replaced the seal twice with milspec, so its not the shaft seal
i tried spraying soap water but still can't see the it but i can hear it and feel it but can't pinpoint it
the egr hose is on
any ideas where it could be leaking from?

Most likely the EGR hoses have popped off. They run from the prongs on the top of the throttle body down behind the center(ish) of the intake manifold. Thats a prime location for a leak.

On the bottom of this photo (which is actually the top of the intake manifold) you can see the hoses. The right side of the image is the throttle body. It could really be any of those hoses tho. Mostly pay attention to the two skinnier gold colored lines, the rubber hoses going to them are common culprits. Dont worry so much about the EGR circled in this pic, it was just like that when I found the image.

my egr hoses are on
i think the leak was through here, changes pitch when i touch it
I tried tightening it but it still leaks,
can someone tell me what this is?

I forget what it's called, but mine was leaking there too. I just put a new oring in there. The IX TB's don't have this.
