I do not understand very well about the clutch change procedures.

To be short, I let my car at Mitsubishi dealer to change the clutch and it came back with oil leak.

They said that it was their fault with excess of oil.

First thing I need to know: What an excess of oil can cause?

Help me here : I think that when we change the clutch we need to change the transmission or t-case oil and front differential. Here is my problem I do not know how the driveline is built and which oil they should put.

They told me about Castrol TAF-X SAE 75W90 API GL5/GL4 and SAF-XO SAE 75W90 GL5

They do not know if the car has a limited slip differential or not.

Tell them to use only Mitsubishi OEM fluid in the transfercase and rear differential. Pennzoil (or GM) Synchromesh or BG Synchroshift is the best transmission fluid to use. I think if you overfill the tranny or transfer case with fluid it can leak out of certain areas. Good luck!

Tell them to used mitsubish LSD gear oil, says it on the can, in the tc. If they dont prepare to be buying a new tc in about 500miles. Trust me it happens all the time.

Not to be the A$$hole here, but you should learn alittle about your car before taking it to someone anyone to work on Mitsu mechincs are nothing more then drop out UTI kids that could give a $hit about your car bro

Today I spent my time searching and searching...
Here is more info:
Manual transmission: API GL4, SAE 75W90, 75W85 or 80W
Transfer Case with ACD: Castrol Hypoy LS / SAE90 API GL5
Rear differential: API GL5 SAE90

The MF**** does not know for sure which oil he put in the car and he charged me 6liters of the most expensive oil at the Mitsubishi.
I went there today and asked why 6liter of oil, showing him my owner manual where 2,8L for the transmission + 0,6L for the transfer case can not reach 6L of oil.
One more mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!! they charged me 2liters more of oil.

I think he put Castrol TAF-X in the manual transmission. It is a API GL4/GL5 75W90. Maybe it is ok.

I think they put Castrol SAF-XO in the transfer case. It is an API GL-5 75W90 (non limited slip) differentials.
Here is a possible problem, I think

Remember that my car is an Evo 7, I think it has an open diff. Someone could confirm?

just make sure they use OEM fluids(diaqueen) and they only put GL-5 in the TC and rear, and only GL-4 in the tranny.

Talked with Mitsu today.

They put the Castrol SAF-XJ in the TC. It is a Hypoid oil for limited slip or conventional differentials. SAE 75W140 API GL5

Talked with a shop seller and he told me that Castrol SAF-XJ can replace Castrol Hypoid LS SAE90.

I will try to contact Castrol today.

What do you guys think about the SAF-XJ in the Tranfer Case?

If you do not use OEM oil in the transfer case, you are playing with fire. Just remember that we warned you. Drain your transfer case and differential and throw that crap away and buy some OEM GL5 fluid.

k270kmh: It is pretty ridiculous that your Mitsubishi dealership is oblivious to the regular service prodedures and proper fluids to use in your car. What country are you in? Since you have a Evo 7, I'm guessing it's not North America.

First, I would make sure you save complete documentation of everything the dealer did to your car, including which fluids they changed and what replacements they used. Secondly, I would call whatever your region's corporate Mitsubishi office is and explain the situation and your concerns to them. Ask them what fuilds should be in your car. Tell them everything the dealer told you. And make sure that they document your inquiry.

I contacted the Mitsubishi client assistance today. Let's see what they answer.

I think they do not have OEM fluid. They work together with Castrol and recommends Castrol fluids only.
