I also have iridiums but i have not had the time to put them in. But what your saying is that you have to be really carefull when gapping

Some people recommend dropping them on their tip to decrease the gap. I've yet to try that, but it seems a little strange to me that there isn't an iridium spark plug gapping tool. I measured the gap on my new iridiums for my IX and theyre at like .028 and I wanted to bring them down below .026 where my current stockers are close to.

i use a wire style gapping gauge, first you put it on the arm of the sparkplug and gently push it up or down, then you pull the wire side thru the gap to get what size you want, it should be a smooth but snug pull, you have to be careful with the tip, but they are much stronger then most think, ive never broken one yet and have done many sets, they always seem to be off whenever i get a new set
