Im sure someone has said this before, but Im gettin amazing rates from progressive, Im on my own plan at 18 and I only pay 2400 a year for full coverage. Now if your 47 im sure they can give you a way better rate than that. Not to mention I live in florida, one of the highest cost to insure states in the country, if not the highest.

While a 50% increase in premiums could just be due to the high cost of parts as they stated, it's possible that Geico simply does not want to insure Evo's anymore. This same problem happened with fox body 5.0 Mustangs (80's-90's). By the mid 90's, some insurance companies would not insure them. Instead of sending cancellation notices, they just raise rates very high giving you motivation to find another insurer.

Same thing happened to me. I joined Geico for a year, then the next year they sent me a bill for about 50% more. I went somewhere else. There are plenty of good insurance companies out there, and most likely a few of them will be about the same or cheaper than what you were paying.

A lot like the original poster - 45, no tickets / no accidents in 10 years. Here are my last six, 6 MONTH payments with Geico for 2003 VIII and 2001 Durango. . .
$904.60
$932.00
$927.20
$971.30
$840.70
$930.90
. . . No idea why it dropped for 6 months and then back up. So paying about $1860 a year.
