ETS Intercooler Install w/ PICS

One of our customers for this week's intercooler special happened to be local to us and wanted it installed. I took a few quick shots while doing the install (I'm not just an office jockey!) to show you guys.

This probably looks familiar to many of you!

Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a Wooly Mammoth?

Fitment to the stock UICP - I failed you guys in not taking a picture of the passenger side fitment without the coupler on, but the pics below should help verify that

So lightning fast at reassembly (or working without taking pics) we went straight to everything bolted up in only one picture

Just a few pics to show you that everything clears, but damn it's just barely. This is the absolute BIGGEST intercooler you can fit within the confines of all of the stock equipment without modification. Our 4" and 5" thick coolers require removal of the bumper beam.

Stock upper piping mounted up

He did an LICP kit at the same time

And a parting shot of the bumper beam back on

The ear to ear grin started when he showed up to pick it up and hadn't stopped when he drove out of our parking lot

This was my car that ETS did the install on. I must say fitment of the intercooler kit is amazing, and the car feels like it really picked up some power from 4000 RPM on.

I am always very happy with the products that ETS makes, and their customer service is Top Notch! If anyone out there is looking for a TBE exhaust, a bigger intercooler, or an upgraded turbokit for your EVO, make ETS your first call.

The bumper does not need modified and the intercooler fits perfectly with the stock undertray. Check out the pictures above that show the undertray in place and stock unmodified bumper beam.

^Dont understand the significance of your question however I would guess that it was on an IX since the spark plug cover has the mitsubishi symbol

FWIW intercoolers are interchangeable between VIII's and IX's
