Exhaust Flames
Hey remember in the 2Fast2Furious movie when they revved the engines up blue, green, pink flames came out of the tail pipe. Well I asked my dad who is a mechanic how can I make my tailpipe shoot flames. He said I can weld a spark plug inside the exhaust and have the wires connected to a button in the car. Hehe anyone think that'll work? My dad could be BS'n me but It might work right? I might try it in one of the loaner cars at the shop.

LOL! Yeah, that'll work... just make sure you don't spray too much NOS...or go tryin' to jump a draw bridge...
Seriously tho, yes it'll work... however a more respectable way to get flames is to elimanate all your ats a run a tad rich... when shifting you should get a nice "pop" of flames... but nothin to dramatic...
At least, nothing John Singleton would approve of...

Just for the record, they made those exhaust flames in 2F2F by attaching propane tanks under the car.
Oh, and the idea (i think) you are thinking of is kind of like an ALS... http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/bangbang.html

Yes, it can be done.. Its an old 50's hot rod trick.. You are right on both accounts, it works by using a spark plug and coil, and there is a kit for it.. However most states its VERY Illegal to use. Also, the trick is to get the car to run rich enough to get raw gas into the exhaust, older cars could do it easy because it had a carburetor, not quite as easy to do nowadays.. Also, in order to get that gas out of your car, those "Kits" use an interruptor to stop the engine's spark for a few seconds after revving the engine up.. It will wreak havoc on your catalytic converter, plus if your unlucky, you can blow up your muffler.. hehe.. Personally I think this sort of thing is a waste of time.. I definitely DON'T recommend it.. Also don't forget if you could even get all that raw gas to go out of the engine, the gas will wash down your piston walls, and your turbo.. can you say lubrication problems?
Its just not worth bothering.. Nuff said..

Considering how rich our cars run now, all you would need is a cat delete pipe and a VTA blowoff valve. Between shifts the car will shoot flames. My MR-2 turbo would shoot 1-2 foot flames. It definately keeps tailgaters away

You probably need to run really rich in order to get it to work effectively. Just vent your BOV to the atmosphere and you're set...
Just watch for cops ot you're toast. LOL.

As far as I've been informed.. In Japan there is a kit called Dragon Fire that is made for imports to do that pretty blueish flame out the back.. I'm not sure but I think that's what they used in the movie... Just my .02

... uh.... nevermind.
If you want a system that shoots flames but actually serves a purpose other than "pretty fire light show" find yourself an antilag system. Antilags push the engine combustion into the exhaust whenever you lift on the throttle. So as you lift your turbo dosn't spool down and you get instant throttle response when you get back on. WRC cars use a similar system and complain to high heaven when its not working.
The one's I saw overseas (Claudius would have more information) usually had switches where you can turn the antilag system on and off and can vary the amount of KABOOOM that comes out of your tailpipe. Its not some pretty colored propane system for show... its a nasty orange yellow engine pop that can scare people like nobodies business, but when tuned properly it can really increase the racing performance of a turbo car.
But if you want pretty flames... get a propane kit and don't screw with your timing.
