NEITHER BGI or II. That fluid sucked - broke down and expanded in under 5k.

First off, if the car is new - why change the fluid out of the gate? Run it, break it in, then change the fluid when the manual states (if just daily driving - racing is a different story).

Secondly, what trans 5sp or 6sp? If 6sp, use the Mitsu Diaqueen for the 6sp.

There are some huge threads about this (here is one):

I run Amsoil trans fluid now - much better than BG. Others I know run Redline.

Use the 6spd Diaqueen for the 5 AND 6 speed transmissions!

26k used, I would swap the fluids out....don't forget the transfer case as well.

I bought my evo used as well and had all the fluids flushed out and changed. my bf started a thread about basically the same thing. this may not be AS helpful as the link SmikeEvo provided, but hopefully it's some help.

I just changed my Tranny fluid with the Mitsu MT tranny fluid. Feels alittle smoother, but the thing cost over $80 for a gallon jug.
