Horn Doesn't Work + SRS Light Is On
I realized that my horn wasn't working plus my srs light is on. I'm not sure if they have anything to do with each other. I checked the fuse under the hood and it looks fine. I just finished doing a clutch install and I removed the steering column in the process. I checked the plugs behind the steering wheel and they're all hooked up. Anything else I should check?

this might help you.
if he disconnected the steering shaft from the car, then it sounds like the squib (clock spring) is done.
That means that the steering wheel was turned more that 1.5 turns in either direction with out being connected to the steering gear. That would cause both the srs light and the horn not to work. srs light because the clock spring is apart of the srs system for the wheel bag and the horn to stop because the power for the horn runs thru it.
That is why you are not suppose to do it that way. It is way simpler to pull the trans out from the bottom of the car by itself, or the extreme, pull the engine out thru the top of the car.
good luck. You need a brand new clockspring, not a used one as that will be bad as well.

i knew it! i put my car back together the first time and everything was fine, but i was a couple splines off when i reinserted the steering rack so when i was trying to fix it i accidently turned the wheel while it was disconnected from the steering gear and i heard a pop from the steering wheel. now i know it was the clock spring.
did you have to pay for them to do that?
