so i was installing my cf trunk, and i took off one of the torsion bars, and the trunk would close but one side would be leveled perfect while the other side was a bit higher, so i thought taking off the other bar would help fix that problem...but now the trunk won't close

anybody know how to put the bars back on, they're a biotch to put back on, or how about closing the trunk

please help guys..i gots a 06 ix

thanks everyone

I have a CF Trunk and don't have ether on mine and it closes and opens fine. To take them on and off I just a mid size prybar to put the torsion back on them. But your Trunk should still close ??? GL tho man.

I would mess around with the latch itself... Something doesn't sound right here.. Those bars were the very first thing I took off when I got my CF trunk and it closes with no issues at all.. and opens with no issues either..

Hmmm, removing them completely will work for a CF trunk lid? I should try that then, but this thread is worrying me as my fitment is really good.

probably something with the latch...loosen those 2 bolts that hold it to the car and move it up a little or lower it a little and see what happens...

^^
well heres the thing too
with one bar on, it closed perfect, except one side of the trunk was lifted higher, so i thought if i took off that bar, the trunk would be evenly flat, but after i took that second bar off 10 min after, it just wouldnt close

^^lol

i dont mean to freak u out, so heres the thing

-i got a cf trunk
-i took off my stock, and put the cf one on
-i heard the cf trunk will shoot straight up when u open it so thats when i decided to take out the tension bars right then and there
-so i took off one bar just to see how it would be, and it closed fine, but the only thing that bugged me was that, when the trunk was closed, one side of the trunk seemed higher than the other, and i thought it was because i took off one of the tension bars
-i decided to take off the other tension bar to see if that would keep the trunk levelled when the trunk is closed
-so i took off bar
-now my trunk wont close
