Ebay Test Pipe???

Looking into getting a test pipe and ran accross a few different ones on ebay, for very reasonable prices. Now whats the experince like for you guys with the ebay no brand name test pipes?? I know a 3'' pipe is a 3'' pipe, BUT i am worried about the flange weldings, and i dont want any exhaust leaks down the road.

So give me your guys experiences with these pipes...thanx

I used to have a 3" resonated test pipe. It was like $25 and it lasted just fine. I've known people with ebay exhausts that have lasted years. I'd stay away from ebay headers but besides that it'll be fine

Probably the only thing you would have to worry about is it rusting, as I'm sure they are made of cheap grades of metal...

make sure of the following and u should be good to go:
1) Stainless steel tubing
2) true 3'' ID tube
3) 2 bolt flange design that fits oem cutback/downpipe

as far as exhaust leaks, as long as u use a gasket (I would just use the stock one and spray it with that copper gasket adhesive) then u should be good.
save ur money and go for it

Ebay exhausts can be pretty good, but probably not as well made as others. Sometimes the Stainless Steel they use is not high grade and will literally rust or burn through down the road. Not all Ebay vendors are the same. Not all Ebay exhausts are the same either. There are some good ones.

Take Greddy for example. I have their SS 80mm comp turbo back exhaust and the piping is a $HIT grade of stainless. Yeah the canister, flanges, and hangers still look new, but the piping is getting ugly. Especially in the short amount of time that I've had it...

So the best choice would be to...........COAT IT.

Be careful and check the seller's reviews before you buy. A while back, I got a test pipe from ebay for only 15 bucks. The welds and flanges were nice and thick. No leaks.
