Cleaning inside of Intercooler?

Cleaning inside of Intercooler?
Took apart my pipes the other day and inside of my IC looks nasty. I assume this cant be a good thing. it's like some nasty gunk in there. just wondering is that safe? should i get rid of that somehow? if so how? what do i use? I have boost leak issues and all kinds of nonsense.. dats why im asking. please help.

Wow!!! Gasoline? Acetone? That sounds like something I shouldnt do on my own because I dont know what im doing. I wish it was a video or something.. I'm do some more research. Thanks for the help guyz.

Well, if it's grease, that stuff will cut it. I'm thinking the safest is a parts cleaner, or steam but I'm not sure how you would do either in your garage. You definitely want to clean that out though. You can thank that nasty film to the crank blow buy hose that's plumbed into your intake pipe.

Using gasoline is the best way imho. Ive done it several times and if your careful and obviously not have any flames around and do it in a well ventilated area, you should have no problem.
Pour some gasoline in one end, cap both ends or put your hands around the holes, and swish around. Pour it out, and keep doing that until the gasoline comes out clear.
