Crappy Startup - Spark Plugs?
Hey guys,
This problem has happen for awhile. There are times, where I would crank a few times to startup the car, there are other times, where it start up instantly. I am running stock Iridium plugs, which on the NGK website, states its pre-gapped (0.032) and from what I read, we should be gapped (0.025-0.028). I haven't changed my plugs for about a year now. I am tempted to change it now, but considering to get OEM or the NGK copper head.
Now, if I get the OEM Iridium will I have to gap it? As for the NGK copper, I know I will. Read a few post here and there, saying not to gap the Iridium tips.
Can someone shed some light on this?
Thanks

My experience with trouble starting is that I had a hose off and this small amount of extra air getting into the intake was messing up the air/fuel mixture at start.

I'm having some similar issues. I was just about to start a thread, but I guess I'll post it here. Since about 2 days ago; the car has been starting really weak and everytime I turn it off and restart it, it gets weaker.. It's fine while driving and everything.. It's just when I start it..

Actually I got this battery a few months ago from Costco, and it have more crank power than the stock battery, cause I original thought that was the issue. But its not. Its more like an ignition/fuel problem, cause after a few cranks, it will start up rough. I will check the spark plugs when the weather clears up, been running rich for awhile, probably plugs are fouled up.
