Same here, cleaned it last night. I'm not sure if it is just in my head but throttle response seems a lot better. Highly reccommend any EVO IX owners to clean their TB even if it isn't sticking.

Mine is doing this too, glad I found the thread. Considering we just got 4 inches of snow I'll have to wait a few days to clean mine. Way too cold out there now.

I always thought it was some sort of safety feature, to prevent you from driving before the engine is warmed up. Once, the engine is warmed, it works fine, so i just wait. Maybe i'll try this to see if it works.

Its not common, its universal. Both the PCV valve and the cam cover vents to the intake manifold.

It is getting cold, my TB is starting to stick again. I might just take the whole thing out this weekend and give it a good cleaning.

Bump in case it's happening for anyone else.

Same thing happened to mine. Took a good while with a toothbrush and rag to make sure every spot in there was completely cleaned. No signs of sticking since, I assume it will show up after another 50k or so.

Hmmm......this might have to be on my todo list this weekend. I thought it was just the cold that was causing the gas pedal to stick.

Thanks for the info

Yeah I didn't realize this was the solution to the gas pedal sticking problem. I might just replace the stock one with a 65mm TB since that was going to be my next mod. Forums come in handy.
