Quality HID Thread (for non-HID Evos)
I know there's a lot of threads of people asking "what should I get," "what should I buy," "what's good, what's not," "does ebay work" etc..
For those looking for a high quality, legitimate set up and direct plug in, I've narrowed it down to a few solutions:
FYI, the GSR non-HID bulb required is the 9006.
First two HID kits I want to consider are the Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits, and the Volt HID Digital HID Kits, both sold by a former sponsor (not sure what rules are on what I can and can't say).

Volt HID Digital HID Kits
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Volt-HID-i...Kits-s/148.htm
Both are in the higher price range - the first one, the Xtreme Digital, seems to be of extremely high quality, employing all the latest technologies to ensure long life, no flickering, etc whatever else people look for in an HID. Ballast seems to be quite small compared to typical offerings.
The second one, the Volt, seems to be also of very high quality, perhaps sacrificing a few things for an even smaller ballast. Worth mentioning though, that the Volt seems to be marginally smaller than the Xtreme Digital.
Probably going with one of these, frankly the Xtreme Digital looks best to me, and I don't care for eBay and how it worked 10 years for one guy and not for another. I've been running IIKDO's since 2007 (paid ~220)without so much as a flicker, and I've been very satisfied with them. The reason I'm swapping is because I'd like to go with a lighter/smaller ballast, and switch to 4300k or 5000k (currently 6000k, just a little too blue for my taste).
Actually for anyone that would be able to provide input on direct comparison 4300k vs 5000k, that would be very appreciated. Taken with a grain of salt, I'm sure there are some relatively significant variances between different companies. The color question may be of use to OEM HID guys as well; I've heard the OEM actual output is more like 3400k...
The alternative cheaper solution is from DDM Tuning: they have a DDM HID Slim Ballast Kit (looks pretty damn slim too) and starts at a very low price (~45). The main draw here, actually, is the 55w option that they have. Considering I want bright, bright pure white, 55w in 5000k (which washes out to pure white at this wattage) seems like a very interesting and cost effective solution. They have some confusing options (dual in, dual out hid harness, error eliminator type 3, etc), but I'm still very interested, if not for the potentially brighter light.
I have heard some reviews that the drivers side may take a few clicks on and off to turn on though.
One thing I don't know about any of these is the quality of the mounting solution. Post here with experience with that.
On top of this, I am going to be running an Odyssey PC680 (lightweight battery). I'm assuming this will be fine, since HIDs should be taking less energy (right?) than standard halogens (which, the stock GSR headlights were so terrible I will never go back). However, if anyone has run into issue, with say running the 55w DDM HID, please post about it.
Please do NOT post about how your eBay kit works. My main debate is in terms of 4300k vs 5000k (trust me, 6k got old after about 2 years). Not sure how much of a difference it will make. Or I am debating between that and a 55w 5000k.
Discuss!

Thanks to all - from what I have seem I will probably be goign with the Xtreme HIDs, seems to have the best quality/technology etc. In terms of light, like I've said 6k has just gotten a little old for me. I'm battling between 4300k and 5000k, and if 4300k if the philips 4300k bulbs are worth it (60 bucks more). I hope for this to be the last hid kit I ever purchase.. which I guess can be said of most people

I'd like to add HID Fogs into this discussion as well. I'm running the Nokya yellows and HATE how hot they get. I only use my foglights for... ACTUAL fog or low visibility situations though.
Looking for something in HID or yellow that runs cooler.
