Service Engine Soon light came on today. After scanning, it shows code P0117, which is 'Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Low'. The ODBII tool used states 'Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor'. This temp sensor is directly under the thermostat housing, pointing toward the rear of the car. I got one of those, but does anyone know what the sensor is on the opposite side of the housing, pointing toward the front of the car? Anyone have a schematic of the housing and the housing support piece?

It takes about 10 minutes to get the car started when cold. Could a faulty temp sensor send erroneous data to the ECU preventing it from starting when cold? Has anyone else had this issue with code P0117?

Nobody has a schematic of the coolant system??

The other sensor is for the gauge.

Swapping out the temp sensor and resetting the ECU tomorrow...hopefully all is well after.

Forgot to close this.

Just had to run a new ground wire from the sensor to the ecu. Haven't looked/found the actual short location, on the to do list. Must be a rub somewhere.
